My name is Luciana Freire, I'm 20 years old and I'm currently finishing my degree in PR and Corporate Communication. I studied science in my earlier education, however when choosing my path, I decided communication was what I really wanted! Besides university, I'm involved in some projects in the communication area and I also work from time to time in sales. I'm an active person who wants to know new places and discover different ways of living, therefore, I love travelling and fortunately had the opportunity to be in Erasmus for the last 5 months in Budapest, which was amazing!
Q: Why did you decide to participate in GlobCom 2018?
A: In 2018 I was presented with the opportunity to be part of Globcom. I immediately applied because I would have the possibility of working with people from distinct cultures, at a worldwide level, which would provide me new skills and knowledge that otherwise I wouldn’t be able to achieve and surely would help me in the future. It seemed a very enriching project, both at a personal and curriculum level, where I could build new capabilities and develop existing ones.
Q: What are some essential points that contribute to a better cooperation between participants?
A: When working in a project with such dimension there are essential tools to achieve success, we have to bear in mind we are working with many people, with different methodologies of work, so we really have to be inside the project and be as much present as possible, have patience, and be understanding but also affirmative in our points of view.
Q: What advice would you give to current participants?
A: My biggest advice is to enjoy all and every second of this experience, because besides the final goal, it's the journey that contributes to our lives. Enjoy the opportunity to know new cultures, new people, and a different country that surely has many things to offer!
